Is it safe to go trekking in the Arctic without experience?
Trekking in Norway or Sweden is very safe because there are hardly any large predators, so wildlife will not be a danger.
On the other hand, it is not necessary to have experience in trekking in these latitudes since the guide will take you to the destination.
Regarding physical fitness, you must be able to walk at least 17 km per day over uneven terrain (but with less than 500 m of elevation gain) carrying a 15-17 kg backpack for several consecutive days. You must be able to adapt to varying weather conditions, including cold (0 degrees Celsius) on this trip.
What equipment do I need for walking on ice?
High-top boots, 65-70 L backpack, hat, gloves, mountain trousers, thermal shirts, sunglasses, trekking poles, sunscreen, comfortable underwear, windbreaker, raincoat, technical socks, etc.
You can see all the equipment on the FAQ page, but in addition, a very detailed list will be provided to all travelers.
